Prairie Art Field Trip II

family_portrait.jpg

In January of 2014, a group of seven students from Hastings College and I took a field trip to the Stuhr Museum of Prairie Pioneer in Grand Island, Nebraska. We spent three days there, living in an original cabin from the 1850s and learning the ways of the settlers that came before. We then walked the 26 miles home, pushing our gear in a replica hand cart modeled on those used in the migration west.
